Our caring and kind-natured dental health practitioners go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and comfortable during any dental service procedure. We pride ourselves on helping those in the community who have had traumatic past experiences or have had a dental phobia passed on to them. Many of our patients comment they have never felt relaxed at the dentist until they started coming to our practice and this has almost become a specialty of our service.
Crowns and bridges are strong tooth restorations made in a laboratory and they are made from more durable materials than regular fillings (such as gold or porcelain).
Crowns encapsulate the whole tooth and are recommended primarily to prevent the tooth from cracking – a situation which may result in the tooth needing to be removed. They strengthen teeth which have cracks, large fillings and protect weakened teeth after they have had root canal treatment.
Bridges are used to replace single missing teeth by crowning the neighbouring teeth and having a false tooth attached in between.
Implants are titanium screws that are placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth and are strong and durable. Benefits of implants are that neighbouring teeth are not affected by the treatment and they can be cared for like your own original tooth. Implants can also be used to replace multiple teeth or all your teeth as a more comfortable and effective alternative to dentures.
Inlays and onlays are similar to crowns in that they are made in a lab from stronger, more durable materials than a regular filling. Unlike crowns, inlays and onlays do not cover the whole tooth.
At Barossa Dental we use a wide range of materials. Including composite resin, glass ionomer cements, porcelain and gold. Amalgam can be used if requested.
